    Techno rave at Florenga's

I got an invite to go to the Techno Rave at Florenga's! Florenga's is the name of this cool teen hangout that us locals like to go to, and it's like the place to be seen. It's got great food, neat game arcade, karaoke, and party dancing there. It's one of the cool things to do here in Santa Marina. Anyways, they're hosting a Techno Rave, which only comes 3 times a year, and it's pretty exclusive. You have to be on "the list" to get in. Marissa got in, but Holly and Dot didn't. We really wanted to go, but we didn't think it was fair to go without them. Marissa and I insisted that we didn't mind missing out, because they weren't included, but they went, "Oh it's ok! Go have fun! Maybe you can find some secrets, or just something interesting there. And take pictures! We definitely want to see pictures to see what happened. Or better yet a cam, ..." Anyways they were ok with me and Marissa going, but at least wanted to know what it was like, especially really good visuals. We promised, and it's going to happen tomorrow! At 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Non-stop dancing & partying for 4 and a 1/2 hours. Our passes ensure that we get in, and do whatever we want. Everything is free and you can really do whatever you want. Play games for free, they assign you a point card (electronicly) and if you get back out, you hand it right back to them, no slipping away passes. Eat all you want for free. Chow down on some chips, burgers all on the house. Isn't this amazing? It will seem really cool. If you're wondering what criteria makes you availiable to get in, there is some stuff like:

    • Sports star - play sports
    • Club leader - leader of a club/organization
    • Top Smarts - the very smart with a really high GPA
    • Beautiful - for people with the looks

Yeah, that criteria does seem kind of snobby. That's basically anybody who's going, would have to fit one of those bullets. I guess I'm the Sports Star, since I play softball a lot. So does Marissa. So now me and Marissa are going to head to the mall to see if we can find something good to wear there. Usually I could care less of what I wear, but Marissa has insisted this is really special, and I have to admit, being invited to an all-exclusive party is a good reason to get a new outfit. So that's it for today. I'll update you tomorrow about the party.

Graham crackers and milk taste wonderful

Have you ever tried graham crackers with milk before? They taste awesome. I just love the way the graham crackers have that nice cinnamon taste, and it just taste wonderful. And a glass of cold milk to wash it down taste so good, and it's healthfuly good for you. I don't have a particular favorite brand though. But they are especially wonderful in smore's. The rich melted chocolate, and the gooey soft marshmallows, smashed between 2 delcious graham crackers taste oh so good. It might give you more calories than you expect, but it still taste good. Graham crackers and apple juice however don't seem to mix. I mean the sweet tasty apple juice, mixed with the cinnamony tasting graham crackers, clash together, and don't seem to taste so great. Milk washes away the crumbs so it doesn't leave an aftertaste. Apple juice on the other hand, still gives a sweet cinnamony taste, which isn't so good. Anyways, I know this is a stupid post, but there's not much else I want to share. If you actually read this blog, don't expect much. I haven't been feeling so good for the last few days, and I'm not in the mood for posting anything serious. Sorry.

Do what's right - search to help save 9 million kids

Microsoft and the 9 Million Foundation have made this new initiavtive, that Microsoft will donate money to the 9 Million Foundation, based on the amount of searches done on Windows Live. This will help the 9 million refugee kids that really need help. This is relatively easy for us people out there, so I don't see how it's so hard. Just search on Windows Live, people. It will really help. If you want to start, go here: http://click4thecause.live.com/Search/Charity/Default.aspx Start by searching, and save the world.

Santa Marina is so boring in the winter

In the winter in Santa Marina, it's so boring. There's like nothing to do. It's not cold really, especially this year, but it's still gloomy to go outside. I just wish there was something to do. Well there was something interesting last night on the news. Somebody vandalized the library building. They broke in the back, and stole 5 books. Weird, right? The books were also kind of random according to the report. They included:
    • a children's book "Berenstein Bears Bedtime Battle" - what a tongue twister!
    • a history book "Inventing a Nation : Washington, Adams, Jefferson"
    • a asian history book "Treason by the Book"
    • a chemistry book "Salt : A world history"
    • a music book "Radiation Acoustics"

It's so weird how it was really random. The library reported that these were relatively new books, with the oldest bought in October 2006. So why didn't this guy just buy them at a regular bookstore? They also weren't too expensive. As far as they know, these were the only things stolen. I think it was just a bunch of kids just doing some act of vandalism, but I have no idea who it is of course. Well that's the only thing that's happening around here. I'll be back soon.

    The Zune is awesome!

I've used the Zune for awhile now, and I have to say it's great. The Zune device itself is pretty good. It's scratch-resistant, has a nice metal feel to it, and it doesn't seem TOO big. It fits at least ok in the palm. The software inside is pretty great too. Now I have to say the UI inside it is way better than the ipod's. Way better than looking at a white screen with black text all the time. The UI is really easy to navigate, and seems to flow real well. You can even change the background on it. Which I have to say is awesome. Now you can distinguish yourself from everybody's else's Zune just by the background pic. Sometimes my friend's get confused whose ipod is who, and they have to take awhile to straighten it out. When you play songs it's great. I like how it sparkles at the point where it is in the song. I just wish the album pic could be better. It's kind of blurry and low resolution. Everything is wonderful on the inside and the outside. Then there is the Zune software. The one on the computer where you can buy and store a library full of stuff. I don't know why they just couldn't let it use Windows Media Player. The Zune software is fine and all, but it's still a puzzle why they didn't do that. Anyways songs cost 79 points (or 99 cents in real money). I don't know why they just don't use regular cash too. The points are ok, I understand they go with the whole Microsoft point system, but I still wish there were an option to use real cash. I don't want to convert stuff in my head. So I buy them, and they're bought. I sync my Zune with the computer, and what's there, goes there. I also wish they could allow podcasts and videos on the Marketplace. It would be real awesome if they did. I heard they would at least allow videos somewhere near the end of January/beggining of February. I hope so. That's all I really have to say. I'm just an average Jane, and I have to say the Zune rocks. I have to give it 9 stars out of 10. 1 star off because some stuff they don't have. So go for it. Try the Zune. You don't have to buy it, just go to Best Buy, Target, and look at the displays they have. You can touch it, and listen to it. It's real awesome. Try it.

    First post of 2007!

Sorry I haven't updated since Christmas Eve. I had a surprise visit from my mom. Lana. I'm never too happy when my mom comes to visit. She always dissapoints me, and everytime she visits from Hollywood, she brings up something bad. Which reminds me, I haven't told about my Christmas presents yet. Here's the list:
    • Grams - $50 which I appreciate a whole lot
    • Hudson - A $25 gift-card for Barnes & Noble and a $15 gift card for Starbucks
    • Lana (mom) - a Zune player! she actually got me what I wanted! I'll talk more about this
    • Marissa - $50 gift card for Zune Marketplace, she knew how much I wanted a Zune, and got me a card just in case
    • Holly - a box of Hershey chocolate and she gave Dorito some mittens (which made Dorito happy, I think)
    • Dot - skateboard wax, and some glow-in-the-dark wheels (awesome!)
    • Casey - He swung by my apartment and delivered me roses! That was really sweet of him! I never expected it.
    • Officer Borsch - a chocolate pudding pie, it was tasty. I never expected that either, to give me anything at all

Anyways, that's really it all. Now mom actually did something right for once. Grams must have told her what I really wanted, and she got me a Zune. Can you believe that? I know mom is always so antsy in buying stuff, but she actually bought me it. $249.99 for it. A white one (what I wanted) Not also that, but she also bought me a neat case for it. I was really so thrilled to get it. She paid so much for it. I guess that loosened my grunge for mom visiting again, by surprise. She said at first, she was just going to find some other music player, since she couldn't afford it, but when she got a Christmas bonus, she was so happy. Enough to buy me a Zune and a case. wow. That must have been some bonus. Now I've been using it, and actually love it. I'll talk more about my new Zune tomorrow. Anyways, I guess it wasn't so bad that mom visited. We did invite her to stay in the apartment, but since I'm already still sleeping on the couch, Mom rented a room across the street, not the seedy hotel, but some other hotel, the California Inn. I guess it was ok this week. Mom took sometime to update our lives, and we went around to some places. I didn't learn anything new though. Nothing about my dad. Anyways she stayed until New Year's, and went back to Los Angeles. So that's all that pretty much happened this week. I'll talk about my Zune tomorrow. That's it.
