August 18 Caught him, and I'm going to take a break off blogging for a few monthsIt's been a long while since I posted and of course a lot has happened since then. Anyway, after Maynard's Market was cordoned off. I snuck in scoured the rubble/burned areas found a weird copper tube and not far from it, a code typed onto a piece of plastic. Studied up codes at the library, went to Hudson's and he helped me figure out it was one of those codes where there's a reference to a book (which he coincidentally had) and the series of digits resembled a page, a line, and a letter. Like 4-24-2 would mean the 4th page, the 24th line, and the 2nd letter from top to right. The 2nd letter would be the letter indicated in the code. I pieced it together and found out it was a location in West Santa Martina. I headed there with Holly and we staked the place. It was an abandoned factory we call the The Graybin, because the exterior looks like a gray bin and there's actually several gray bins around it's parking lot that were left after the company closed down.
Anyway, we waited and waited, the bad guys showed up (including the creepy one in the raincoat I saw) and they were pulling out weapons from one of the bins. They grunted about several things and I heard them discussing about losing the copper tube which was valuable to their 'mission'. Before they left, they slapped a code onto a piece of cereal box and dropped it on the ground. Holly took a snapshot of the code with her HTC TouchDiamond camera and we went to figure it out. We went to the library to find a copy of War and Peace and after an hour, figured it out. It was a list of chemicals, and metals, and weird stuff.
After pondering and thinking about the situation later when I got home, I realized the accident at Maynard's wasn't an accident. I recalled that the copper looked very similar to something I saw in this TV show, and after some more thinking, I realized it was related to a superweapon. Like military stuff on the Discovery Channel. It wasn't ordinary copper, but it had a distinct prong like shape on one end, and ended in a loop at the other. I don't know how the cops could have missed seeing this weapon, but maybe they thought it was just twisted metal. I realized I'm holding a piece of stolen weapons!
I would so have wanted to tell the police, but my only piece of evidence was a twisted burnt copper piece, and the code could have been something I just made up on the spot. No proof, no investigation. So I made a trap. My trap was to fool the Raincoat Guy and his buds to deliver the weapons to a place not far away from the Santa Martina Police HQ. I wrote up a new code based on Crime & Punishment (took 2+ hours to find all the letters!) with my friends. It told them that they heard the cops were going to be searching this area for something, so move the weapons and materials over to this abandoned store before the cops came.
They fell for it, and my plan was to originally call the cops to meet them there once they left, but the guys were so panicky that that they sped and crashed their Suburban into a cop cruiser. Long story short, they were caught, and charged for stealing weapons from the U.S. Military R&D AND the fire that happened at Maynard's (which happened because a flammable fuel leaked from Raincoat Guy's pocket, and it wasn't Maynard's cigarettes that did it, but RC's friend).
After that, I've just been hanging around, catching flicks with Marissa, going to the mall, skateboarding, playing softball and the usual stuff. It's been getting boring, and hotter.
I'm going to stop blogging for a few months, because I just don't feel like doing it. So I'll be a bit absent from that. I'll still be online sometimes of course, and you may see stuff in my What's New feed. But as for blogging? I'm giving that a rest. |
