Caught him, and I'm going to take a break off blogging for a few months

It's been a long while since I posted and of course a lot has happened since then. Anyway, after Maynard's Market was cordoned off. I snuck in scoured the rubble/burned areas found a weird copper tube and not far from it, a code typed onto a piece of plastic. Studied up codes at the library, went to Hudson's and he helped me figure out it was one of those codes where there's a reference to a book (which he coincidentally had) and the series of digits resembled a page, a line, and a letter. Like 4-24-2 would mean the 4th page, the 24th line, and the 2nd letter from top to right. The 2nd letter would be the letter indicated in the code. I pieced it together and found out it was a location in West Santa Martina. I headed there with Holly and we staked the place. It was an abandoned factory we call the The Graybin, because the exterior looks like a gray bin and there's actually several gray bins around it's parking lot that were left after the company closed down.

Anyway, we waited and waited, the bad guys showed up (including the creepy one in the raincoat I saw) and they were pulling out weapons from one of the bins. They grunted about several things and I heard them discussing about losing the copper tube which was valuable to their 'mission'. Before they left, they slapped a code onto a piece of cereal box and dropped it on the ground. Holly took a snapshot of the code with her HTC TouchDiamond camera and we went to figure it out. We went to the library to find a copy of War and Peace and after an hour, figured it out. It was a list of chemicals, and metals, and weird stuff.

After pondering and thinking about the situation later when I got home, I realized the accident at Maynard's wasn't an accident. I recalled that the copper looked very similar to something I saw in this TV show, and after some more thinking, I realized it was related to a superweapon. Like military stuff on the Discovery Channel. It wasn't ordinary copper, but it had a distinct prong like shape on one end, and ended in a loop at the other. I don't know how the cops could have missed seeing this weapon, but maybe they thought it was just twisted metal. I realized I'm holding a piece of stolen weapons!

I would so have wanted to tell the police, but my only piece of evidence was a twisted burnt copper piece, and the code could have been something I just made up on the spot. No proof, no investigation. So I made a trap. My trap was to fool the Raincoat Guy and his buds to deliver the weapons to a place not far away from the Santa Martina Police HQ. I wrote up a new code based on Crime & Punishment (took 2+ hours to find all the letters!) with my friends. It told them that they heard the cops were going to be searching this area for something, so move the weapons and materials over to this abandoned store before the cops came.

They fell for it, and my plan was to originally call the cops to meet them there once they left, but the guys were so panicky that that they sped and crashed their Suburban into a cop cruiser. Long story short, they were caught, and charged for stealing weapons from the U.S. Military R&D AND the fire that happened at Maynard's (which happened because a flammable fuel leaked from Raincoat Guy's pocket, and it wasn't Maynard's cigarettes that did it, but RC's friend).

After that, I've just been hanging around, catching flicks with Marissa, going to the mall, skateboarding, playing softball and the usual stuff. It's been getting boring, and hotter.

I'm going to stop blogging for a few months, because I just don't feel like doing it. So I'll be a bit absent from that. I'll still be online sometimes of course, and you may see stuff in my What's New feed. But as for blogging? I'm giving that a rest.

Super summer so far! Maybe a new mystery?

So far it's been swell. I love to drop the books, and just have fun this summer. Just a few days ago, Marissa, Dot, Holly and I just went to a new waterpark in Sisquane called Kaploosh! and we had a blast of a time. There was a water balloon 'warzone' area called Balloon Fight! and I nailed Dot a lot of times, but Marissa and Holly got me back. It's a really neat area because you can actually run around without worrying about slipping and falling, because they use a special kind of AstroTurf on the ground. There's also large twisted structure you can hide in or behind. It's awesome! We also got sight of Heather in some hideous bikini that was way too small for her. We giggled, and while Heather and her posse were playing around, we discreetly aimed several balloons at HER! She never knew where it came from! It just made my day.

There's a bunch of other neat things about the park too like a mega water chute, lazy river, a water jungle gym, and a wave pool and other stuff. After we were tired, we stopped by an on-site Baskin Robbins and ordered some cones. It was also hot that day, like around 97 degrees, so the water and ice cream helped a LOT.

So it's been a boring couple of days, until this morning. I was just munching on Gram's oatmeal (which she practically makes everyday!) when I heard this loud KABOOM! It seemed to be coming from Broadway. I wanted to check it out, but Grams, in her usual worried state, didn't want me to go... not without finishing my break first. So I just gulped it down, and rushed out of there. I had to see what was going on! I jumped onto the fire escape and noticed some smoke in the distance. I got down as fast as I could. I jump to the ground, run out the bushes and smacked into someone in a large yellow raincoat and grizzly hair. He has some really burnt gloves, and he looked like he's been jogging for awhile. We both fall to the ground and his creepy-looking face kinda spooked me. I got up fast, said a quick sorry and took off towards Broadway, while he ran the opposite way. I noticed his raincoat had two large letters that said RC on it.

When I finally reached Broadway, I was just shocked. The front section of Maynard's Market had a humongous hole in it, that littered the street with debris. Fumes were coming out the gap and EMTs were arriving on the scene. A crowd gathered as the police cordoned off the area and a fire truck pulled up. Out the door comes John Maynard all soot-covered and coughing. What the heck was going on? John's dad, Mr. Maynard runs over to him, and instead of comforting him, what do you think he does? He starts yelling at him! "How could you have done this, you dope?" "I leave you alone in the morning for just one hour, and it blows up?" "Argh!!" An officer separates the two before it goes on even further.

I notice Officer Borsch on the sidelines, and even though I still don't like him, I want to see what he knows about what happened.

"Hey Officer Borsch! What's going on here?" I asked.

Office Borsch, with a frown, replies, "Hmmph. Not much that I know yet or could tell you. If you ask me though, Maynard's son just smokes too much and must have hit something flammable."

I'm thinking it could be true, but it just didn't seem right to me. There seemed to be more to this than what it looked like. Anyway, the smoke died down, and there wasn't much to look at, so I went back. I stopped at a pet store and got some cat food for Dorito, and went back inside.

Later, I'm going to look around the scene and try to talk to Maynard's son about what happened. There just seems to a be a mystery in this, somewhere. It'd be awesome to stumble upon another mystery.

It's summer time again!

Finally! I've been counting down the days till summer time, and it's finally here. I got off school officially Monday, and I've been planning out my summer.

I plan on hanging out with my friends a lot, solving mysteries, skateboarding, playing some more softball, and whatever else is going on.

Just tonight, Marissa, Dot, Holly, and I stopped at the new Baskin Robbins store that opened up in town, and gave it a whirl. MMMM! I had 2 scoops: chocolate mint and strawberry on a waffle cone, Marissa had Tutti Fruitti in a waffle bowl, Holly had Mississippi Mud (Chocolate) in a waffle cone, and Dot had two scoops of Vanilla and Rocky Road on her waffle bowl. We sat at one of the tables and caught up on how things were going. Then we shopped at the mall a bit and left at closing time.

That's about all that's been going on lately. Hopefully I get some new adventures!

April showers bring May flowers...

Grams planted a new flower in one of her flower pots on the terrace. Now usually I'm not so psyched about plants but this one is kinda special. I found a seed stuck to my pant leg, and was about to just toss it in the trash, when Grams wanted to see what it was, and identified it as a marigold seed. So instead of trashing it, she just decided to plant it.

At first, I was meh about it. But as it has grown, the golden petals have started to come out, and it is kinda cool. So now I go on the terrace every day (which is quite small btw) and give her a little water and some love. I started calling the marigold 'Mary'. It's kinda nice to nurture something, though it's different from taking care of Dorito.

Not much else new. Can't wait for school to end.

Very windy lately

It's practically always windy in Cali, but it's gotten even stronger. The Santa Martina Start reported that winds were like 45 mph, and you could tell when power was disrupted at school for a moment. Everyone in English class thought, "Yay! No lights, no work!" Unfortunately, the back-up generators kicked back in, and we had to go back to work. We're reading The Great Gatsby btw.

I've also been preparing for the Earth Day celebration at school tomorrow. This year, we're going to have an in-school Earth Day celebration for at least an hour, during the end of the day. There's going to be sort of like a 'fair' type of thing set up, and there's going to be natural snacks and drinks, games (about the environment of course), and we're going to go around the campus picking up litter, a tree planting, and the start of a new horticultural garden. Sounds kinda fun. I love the environment, and I do think it is important to protect it as well as possible. It isn't even hard; it's just that people are often so lazy, or the government sometimes make it hard.

Well that's about it so far. I'm planning on wearing green tomorrow.
